{"id":5794,"date":"2026-03-12T18:12:33","date_gmt":"2026-03-12T12:42:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gaonkaari.com\/?p=5794"},"modified":"2026-03-12T18:13:21","modified_gmt":"2026-03-12T12:43:21","slug":"goas-disaster-management-has-become-a-disaster-lop-yuri-alemao","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gaonkaari.com\/mr\/goas-disaster-management-has-become-a-disaster-lop-yuri-alemao\/","title":{"rendered":"Goa\u2019s Disaster Management Has Become a Disaster: LoP Yuri Alemao"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em><strong>Goa\u2019s Disaster Management Has Become a Disaster: LoP Yuri Alemao<\/strong><\/em><br><em><strong>Panaji: Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao, during Zero Hour in the Assembly, strongly criticized the state\u2019s disaster management system, stating that it has itself become a \u201cdisaster.\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Alemao highlighted the recent incident involving the overturning of a Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited LPG tanker on National Highway 66 at Padi in South Goa, where rescue operations reportedly took 18 hours to begin. \u201cThis incident exposes the State\u2019s lack of preparedness and the highly inadequate mechanisms currently in place for effective disaster management,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>He stressed that Goa\u2019s disaster management framework must be upgraded to match the level and type of development being planned and projected in the state.<br><br>Other States Preparing for LPG Supply; Goa Govt Failed: Alemao<br>On Thursday, Alemao also raised concerns over the state government\u2019s failure to ensure uninterrupted LPG supply amid the ongoing global crisis. He pointed out that while other states are proactively taking measures to avoid shortages, Goa\u2019s BJP-led government remains \u201csushegad\u201d on the issue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>\u201cDoes this Government expect people to fill empty cylinders with air pumps? The Chief Minister mocks citizens with his repeated pat phrase \u2018Bhivpachi Garaj Na\u2019,\u201d Alemao remarked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>He further noted that several LPG agencies are not responding to phone calls and bookings are being handled in an erratic manner.
