Margao, July 3: Political analyst and long-time Congress supporter Vishal Pai Cacode has written an open letter to AICC General Secretary (Organisation) K. C. Venugopal ahead of his Goa visit, raising seven key questions on the functioning of the Goa Congress and calling for organisational reforms.<\/p>\n
Describing the letter as a reflection of the concerns of thousands of committed Congress workers, Pai Cacode said his questions stem from loyalty to the party and a desire to strengthen the Indian National Congress in Goa.<\/p>\n
Recalling his association with the Congress since 1979, he said he has remained committed to the party’s ideology for over four decades without seeking any organisational post or election ticket. He also highlighted his contributions during the 2022 Goa Assembly elections, including assisting with campaign planning, drafting the party’s chargesheet against the BJP government, contributing to the election manifesto, composing Konkani campaign songs and coordinating Rahul Gandhi’s “Pledge of Loyalty” programme at Dona Paula.<\/p>\n
In his letter, Pai Cacode questioned the absence of a second line of leadership in Goa, the continued promotion of leaders despite repeated organisational and electoral failures, the delay in reconstituting the Political Affairs Committee, the party’s future strategy in Velim and Benaulim, the alleged presence of RSS ideological sleeper cells within the Goa Congress, the appointment of a builder-businessman as GPCC Treasurer and what he described as the party’s growing tendency to celebrate the success of other political parties instead of strengthening its own grassroots organisation.<\/p>\n
Expressing hope that Venugopal’s visit would lead to honest introspection, Pai Cacode urged the AICC leadership to restore internal democracy, merit-based leadership, accountability and respect for loyal party workers to revive the Congress in Goa.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
