Mapusa, 25 September: Senior BJP functionary and former Mapusa Municipal Council chairperson Sandeep Hari Falari has announced his intention to contest the forthcoming Goa Assembly election from the 05\u2013Mapusa Assembly Constituency and expressed confidence that the Bharatiya Janata Party will consider his request for the party nomination.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Making the announcement on the occasion of Anant Chaturdashi, Falari said that with the blessings of Devi Shantadurga and Dev Bodgeshwar, he had decided to offer himself as a candidate to represent Mapusa in the Legislative Assembly.<\/p>\n

Falari said that over the past few months, a large number of well-wishers, BJP karyakartas and supporters from different communities in Mapusa, including people cutting across party lines, had encouraged him to take up the responsibility.<\/p>\n

Highlighting his long association with the BJP, Falari said he has been a loyal party worker for the past 25 years. During this period, he has served as Vice President of the North Goa BJP Committee, executive member of the Goa Pradesh BJP Committee, BJP Prabhari for the Colvale Zilla Panchayat Constituency and BJP Prabhari for the Pernem Assembly Constituency.<\/p>\n

At the local-government level, Falari has been elected three times as a councillor of the Mapusa Municipal Council and has also served as its chairperson on three occasions.<\/p>\n

Falari, an architect by profession, said his administrative experience coupled with a planned and professional approach would help him effectively serve the Mapusa constituency.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am quite certain that BJP will consider my request for the party nomination and give me an opportunity to contest the forthcoming Assembly Election,\u201d Falari said.<\/p>\n

He added that if elected to the Legislative Assembly, he would discharge the responsibilities entrusted to him with \u201csincerity, commitment and accountability.\u201d<\/p>\n

Apart from nearly two decades of experience in municipal administration, Falari said he has served through various State Government authorities and institutions, including the Town and Country Planning Board, North Goa Planning and Development Authority (NGPDA), Goa State Urban Development Agency (GSUDA), Goa Housing Board, Task Force for Development of Mapusa and Mapusa Planning and Development Authority.<\/p>\n

According to Falari, these assignments enabled him to interact closely with different sections of society and understand the issues, aspirations and expectations of Mapusa residents.<\/p>\n

Falari also indicated that in the coming days he would place before the people a detailed account of the work, efforts and contributions he has made towards the development of Mapusa over the years.<\/p>\n

Seeking feedback and suggestions from residents, Falari said he looked forward to the \u201csupport, blessings and good wishes of all Mapsekars\u201d as he moves ahead with his bid for the BJP nomination.<\/p>\n
