Margao: Raising serious concerns over reported incidents of Bluetooth-assisted cheating and impersonation during IIT Goa’s Assistant Professor recruitment examination, Madganvcho Awaaz and youth leader Prabhav Naik has demanded an immediate clarification from the institution and an independent inquiry into the alleged irregularities.

Naik questioned how candidates allegedly carrying Bluetooth devices were allowed to enter the examination hall and complete the examination without detection. He also expressed concern over reports that an individual allegedly impersonated another candidate and managed to leave the examination centre without being identified.

“How could such serious irregularities allegedly take place during a recruitment examination conducted by a premier institution like IIT Goa? What security checks, identity verification procedures and surveillance mechanisms were in place?” Naik questioned.

Referring to reports that two suspects were intercepted by police at the airport while attempting to leave Goa, Naik asked whether the alleged malpractice would have remained undetected without police intervention.

“Had the police not intercepted the suspects at the airport, would the alleged cheating and impersonation have gone completely unnoticed? This raises serious questions about the credibility and integrity of the entire examination process,” he stated.

Naik said that controversies surrounding NEET paper leaks and other examination irregularities across the country should have prompted educational institutions to adopt stricter safeguards and greater transparency in recruitment examinations.

He stressed that recruitment to the prestigious post of Assistant Professor at IIT Goa must be conducted with the highest standards of fairness, transparency and accountability. Any suspicion of malpractice, he said, could undermine the confidence of genuine and deserving candidates while damaging the institution’s reputation.

Demanding accountability, Naik called upon IIT Goa to immediately issue a detailed clarification and initiate an independent inquiry into the reported incident.

The inquiry, he said, must examine security arrangements, identity verification procedures, examination supervision and possible negligence by those responsible for conducting the recruitment process.

“Those found responsible for negligence or wrongdoing must face appropriate action. The credibility of a premier educational institution and the future of deserving candidates cannot be compromised,” Naik concluded.
