Goa Ujjwala Yojana to Provide Assistance for Three LPG Refills Annually

Panaji, September 4: Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant will launch the Goa Ujjwala Yojana, 2026 on September 5 during the Swayampurna Goa Live Interaction, extending annual financial assistance towards domestic cooking fuel to eligible households across the State.

The scheme will be formally launched from 10 am onwards, with programmes to be held at Village Panchayats and Municipalities across Goa.

Under the new scheme, eligible beneficiaries will receive financial assistance equivalent to the average cost of three domestic LPG cylinder refills in a financial year. The assistance will be released once annually through DBT/ECS mode. The State government has allocated ₹100 crore for the scheme.

The Goa Ujjwala Yojana replaces the earlier Chief Minister’s Financial Assistance for Refilling of LPG Cylinder Scheme, 2023. Significantly, the new scheme removes the income and employment-related restrictions applicable under the earlier programme, thereby widening its coverage.

Existing women beneficiaries aged 18 years and above under the Griha Aadhaar Scheme and the Dayanand Social Security Scheme (DSSS) will be covered by default, subject to verification of their LPG or PNG connection details.

Persons above 18 years who are not covered under these schemes can apply under the open category. Applicants must be residents of Goa, possess a valid Goa EPIC and have a domestic LPG connection in Goa either in their own name or in the name of a family member. Domestic PNG consumers fulfilling the eligibility conditions will also be entitled to the benefit.

There will be no income ceiling, while only one benefit will be admissible per household during a financial year.

Application forms will be made available at respective Panchayat and Municipality offices following the launch on September 5.

Griha Aadhaar and DSSS beneficiaries will be required to submit Aadhaar details, a bank passbook copy and LPG book or PNG consumer details. Open-category applicants will have to submit the prescribed application form along with LPG or PNG details, Aadhaar, an Aadhaar-linked and e-KYC-verified bank passbook copy, and EPIC.

The Chief Minister has appealed to Goans to participate in the Swayampurna Goa Live Interaction from their respective Panchayats and Municipalities on 5 September.
