Protest Against Parsekar Food Rendering Plant Enters Day 7; CM Assures Action

Mollem, Goa:
The ongoing protest against the Parsekar Food rendering plant at Palaskata, Mollem entered its seventh day on Thursday, with local residents intensifying their agitation and reiterating their demand for the immediate closure of the unit.

The protest site witnessed a boost as fire brand congress leader Manisha Usgaonkar, visited the location and extended her support to the agitating villagers. She expressed concern over the alleged foul smell and pollution emanating from the plant, stating that residents have a fundamental right to live in a clean and healthy environment. She urged authorities to shut down the unit at the earliest.

Earlier in the day, a delegation of protestors met Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant and raised their grievances regarding the plant’s operations and its impact on the local environment and public health.

The Chief Minister assured the delegation that the matter would be addressed on priority and that necessary steps would be taken to shut down the rendering plant at the earliest.

While welcoming the assurance, the protestors maintained that their agitation would continue until concrete action is taken and the plant is permanently closed.

The situation at Palaskata remains tense but peaceful, with locals determined to sustain their protest until their demands are fulfilled.
