Ponda, July 9: Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) President Girish Chodankar and Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao on Thursday visited Shree Mahalaxmi Saunsthan to participate in the Suvarn Palang Arpan Sohala and Kasht Shilp Navrang Arpan Sohala, where they offered prayers for the peace, prosperity and well-being of the people of Goa.nn
During their visit, the two leaders also received the blessings and darshan of Srimad Vidyadheesh Teerth Swamiji Maharaj. Chodankar prayed for harmony, progress and the preservation of Goa’s rich spiritual and cultural heritage.

Several Congress leaders and local dignitaries, including Damodar Bhatkar, Kiran Nayak, Dattaprasad Madhukar Naik, Samil Volvoikar, Pradeep Naik, Rajesh Vernekar, Adv. Vishnu Naik, Mahesh Mhambre and Sidhanath Buyao, were also present during the religious function.

Speaking after the visit, Chodankar said Goa’s ancient temples and spiritual institutions are enduring symbols of faith, unity and cultural identity. He expressed hope that the blessings of Shree Devi Mahalaxmi and Srimad Vidyadheesh Teerth Swamiji Maharaj would guide the people of Goa with wisdom, strength and compassion while fostering peace and harmony across the State. He also reiterated the Congress Party’s commitment to preserving Goa’s unique cultural and religious heritage.
