Panaji, August 3: In a significant move ahead of the 2027 Goa Assembly elections, the All India Congress Committee (AICC) has constituted a Goa Alliance Committee to coordinate with alliance partners in the state. The committee has been formed with immediate effect following the approval of the Congress President, according to a press release issued by AICC General Secretary K.C. Venugopal on Monday.
The newly constituted committee comprises:
Manikrao Thakre – Chairman
Girish Chodankar – Member
Yuri Alemao – Member
Dr. Anjali Nimbalkar – Member
Capt. Viriato Fernandes – Member
M.K. Shaikh – Member
The committee has been tasked with coordinating among alliance partners and strengthening preparations for the upcoming Goa Assembly elections. The announcement indicates that the Congress has begun formalising its alliance strategy as the state heads towards the 2027 electoral battle.
