Dr Sanjay Desai Appointed Regular Principal of Shree Damodar College, Margao

Margao, 1 September 2026: Dr Sanjay Desai has been appointed as the regular Principal of Shree Damodar College, Margao, after completing the formal requirements prescribed by the University and the Directorate of Higher Education (DHE).

Dr Desai had been serving as the Officiating Principal of the institution for the past two-and-a-half years while the process for his regular appointment was pending due to technical reasons.

Recalling his academic journey, Dr Desai said he had joined CES College, Cuncolim, in October 2018 on a five-year deputation after being invited by the CES management.

After completing his five-year tenure at CES College, Dr Desai returned to his parent institution, Shree Damodar College, in October 2023. The management had then agreed to consider him for the post of Principal following the retirement of the incumbent Principal in April 2024.

However, his regular appointment could not be finalised immediately due to technical and procedural requirements. He continued to discharge the responsibilities of Officiating Principal during the intervening period.

With all the necessary requirements of the University and DHE now fulfilled, Dr Desai has formally taken charge as the regular Principal of Shree Damodar College.

His appointment marks the culmination of a long academic and administrative journey spanning his deputation at CES College, his return to Shree Damodar College and his tenure as Officiating Principal.
