Panaji, June 11: Konkan Railway Corporation Limited (KRCL) has intensified its campaign against ticketless and irregular travel, conducting extensive ticket-checking drives across its network during May 2026.
According to KRCL, a total of 951 ticket-checking drives were carried out during the month, resulting in the detection of 61,051 cases of unauthorized and irregular travel. An amount of ₹3.70 crore was recovered from the offenders towards unpaid railway fares and penalties.
The ticket-checking operations were conducted as part of KRCL’s ongoing efforts to discourage ticketless travel and ensure a comfortable travel experience for genuine passengers. The drives were carried out in coordination with officials from the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and other railway departments.
KRCL has appealed to passengers to travel only with valid tickets and proper travel authorization to avoid inconvenience and penalties. The corporation stated that such intensified checking drives will continue across the Konkan Railway route to promote safe, secure, and hassle-free travel for all passengers.
Passengers have also been urged to cooperate with railway authorities and support efforts aimed at maintaining discipline and ensuring a pleasant journey experience for bona fide travellers.
