Porvorim, September 1, 2026: The Goa Legislative Assembly on Tuesday passed nine Bills during the ongoing session, covering taxation, registration, advocates’ protection, child welfare, healthcare institutions, municipalities, motor vehicle tax, cooperative societies and stamp duty.
Among the Bills passed were the Goa Goods and Services Tax (Amendment) Bill, 2026, the Registration (Goa Amendment) Bill, 2026 and the Goa Advocates Protection Bill, 2026.
The House also cleared the Goa Children’s (Amendment) Bill, 2026 and the Goa Medicare Service Personnel and Medicare Service Institutions (Prevention of Violence and Damage or Loss to Property) (Amendment) Bill, 2026.
Other legislation passed included the Goa Municipalities (Amendment) Bill, 2026, the Goa Motor Vehicles Tax (Amendment) Bill, 2026, the Goa Co-operative Societies (Amendment) Bill, 2026, and the Indian Stamp (Goa Amendment) Bill, 2026.
The passage of nine Bills formed a major part of the legislative business taken up by the House during the session.
