Panaji, Sept 6: Indian squash player Yash Fadte has stormed into the final of the RPM Power Aarhus Open in Denmark after defeating Denmark’s No. 2-ranked player Malthe Laursen in an impressive semifinal performance.
Fadte secured a 3–1 victory in the closely fought semifinal, recovering strongly after losing the opening game. He prevailed 10–12, 11–6, 11–5, 11–7 to book his place in the championship clash.
The Indian player will now face Denmark’s No. 1-ranked Magnus Laursen in the final, setting up a challenging contest against the host nation’s top player.
Fadte’s run to the final marks another significant performance on the international squash circuit, with his semifinal victory underlining his ability to compete strongly against leading European players.
The championship final is scheduled to be played tomorrow at 1.45 pm, with Fadte looking to cap his impressive campaign by lifting the RPM Power Aarhus Open title.
