Panaji, June 22: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Goa State President Valmiki Naik has written to Chief Minister Pramod Sawant demanding immediate relief for electricity consumers across the state, including a complete waiver of electricity bills issued up to June 15, uninterrupted power supply, and 300 units of free electricity for every household.

In his letter, Naik reiterated the demands recently raised by AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal during his visit to Goa. He sought a full waiver of the allegedly inflated electricity bills received by consumers over the past several months and also demanded refunds for those who have already paid such bills.

AAP has further called for the government to ensure a continuous 24×7 electricity supply across Goa by strengthening infrastructure and improving maintenance of the power distribution network. The party also demanded that every household in the state be provided 300 units of free electricity per month, similar to schemes implemented by AAP governments elsewhere.

Naik has given the BJP-led government a deadline of July 31 to implement all three demands. He stated that the demands are aimed at providing relief to Goan consumers and asserted that failure to act would demonstrate the government’s unwillingness to work for the welfare of the people.

The AAP has been actively campaigning against high electricity bills and recurring power supply issues in Goa, making affordable and reliable electricity a key public issue ahead of the upcoming political season.
