Panaji, August 10, 2026: The Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) held a strategic planning meeting attended by representatives from all 40 Assembly constituencies, with discussions focusing on strengthening the party’s grassroots organisation and preparing for future elections.
The meeting, held at Grace Majestic Hotel in Margao, was presided over by AICC Goa in-charge Manikrao Thakare. GPCC president Girish Chodankar, Leader of the Opposition Yuri Alemao, and working presidents M.K. Shaikh, Adv. Carlos Alvares Ferreira, Altone D’Costa and Sunil Kawthankar were present on the dais.
District presidents Assis Noronha, Rajesh Verekar, Shashank Narvekar and Mangaldas Naik attended the meeting, along with Goa Pradesh Mahila Congress president Pratiksha Khalap, Goa Pradesh Youth Congress president Archit Naik, Seva Dal chief organiser Rajan Ghate and other GPCC office-bearers.
Block presidents and executive members from all 40 constituencies participated in the deliberations and presented suggestions and constituency-level feedback. The discussions covered strengthening booth-level committees, improving coordination among party workers, expanding public outreach and ensuring greater participation by grassroots workers in organisational activities.
Addressing the gathering, party leaders stressed the importance of unity, discipline, collective responsibility and sustained engagement with the public. Strategies for raising issues affecting Goa and building a more responsive, people-oriented organisation across the state were also discussed.
The party said the participation of leaders and workers from every constituency reflected renewed enthusiasm and a collective commitment to strengthening the organisation at all levels.
Concluding the meeting, the leadership expressed satisfaction with the party’s organisational preparedness and called on office-bearers and workers to take the Congress’s message of unity, service and commitment to households across Goa.
