Panaji, July 18: Former Union Minister and former Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) President Eduardo Faleiro on Saturday visited Congress House in Panaji and extended his best wishes to GPCC President Girish Chodankar and his team for their efforts to strengthen the party organisation and raise issues concerning the people of Goa.
During an interaction with party functionaries, Faleiro appreciated the GPCC’s proactive role in highlighting public issues and challenging what the party described as the failures and anti-people policies of the BJP government. He urged the Congress to continue standing firmly with the people and remain a strong voice on issues affecting the State.
Faleiro stressed the need to protect Goa’s land, water resources, hills, cultural heritage and secular fabric. He said these were fundamental to Goa’s unique identity and needed to be safeguarded for future generations. He also called upon Congress workers to remain united and committed to protecting the State’s environment, inclusive traditions and democratic values.
Chodankar thanked Faleiro for his guidance and encouragement and assured that the GPCC would continue to raise people’s issues and intensify its campaign against policies it considers detrimental to Goa’s interests.
Several Congress leaders and workers, including Pradip Naik, Janardhan Bhandari, Rajesh Verekar, Mangaldas Naik, Shashank Narvekar, Archit Naik, Rajan Ghate, Sharad Chopdekar, Pratiksha Khalap, Virendra Shirodkar, Yogesh Govekar and Nonu Naik, were present.
GPCC General Secretary Pradip Naik welcomed the gathering, while General Secretary Varad Mardolkar proposed the vote of thanks.
Party members also reaffirmed their commitment to the ideology and principles of the Congress and pledged to continue working for the protection of Goa’s identity and interests.
