Panaji, July 5: The All India Congress Committee (AICC) has appointed senior Congress leader Sunil Kawthankar as the Working President of the Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) with immediate effect.

The appointment was announced through an official order issued by AICC General Secretary (Organisation) K. C. Venugopal.

Kawthankar, a long-time Congress functionary, has been actively involved in strengthening the party organisation at the grassroots level. The Congress leadership believes his appointment will further enhance organisational coordination and boost the party’s outreach across Goa ahead of the upcoming political challenges.

Welcoming the decision of the Congress High Command, the Goa Pradesh Congress Committee expressed confidence that Kawthankar would play a key role in strengthening the organisation and leading the party’s efforts on issues concerning Goa and its people.
