Margao, October 22: In a move to expedite the disposal of pending land mutation cases, the South Goa District Administration has announced a special camp on Saturday, October 24, 2026, across Salcete, Ponda and Mormugao talukas.
According to a public notice issued by South Goa Collector Egna Cleetus, IAS, the special camp will be conducted at the respective offices of Mamlatdars and Joint Mamlatdars from 10 am to 5 pm.
The initiative aims to accelerate the disposal of long-pending mutation applications and provide citizens an opportunity to obtain information about the status of their cases and facilitate their resolution.
Applicants whose land mutation cases remain pending have been advised to visit the concerned Mamlatdar or Joint Mamlatdar offices with all relevant documents relating to their applications.
The Collector has directed all Mamlatdars and Joint Mamlatdars in the three talukas to ensure the smooth conduct of the camp and take necessary steps to dispose of the maximum possible number of pending cases in accordance with applicable laws and procedures.
The special drive is expected to provide relief to landowners awaiting mutation entries in revenue records. However, the disposal of individual cases will remain subject to the prescribed legal procedures.
Background:
The upcoming camp follows a similar drive held on October 17, during which 210 mutation cases were disposed of — 130 in Salcete, 47 in Mormugao and 33 in Ponda.
The initiative also comes amid complaints about delays and alleged corruption in processing land mutation applications, which have prompted administrative intervention.
