Panaji, October 24, 2026: Goa Forward Party (GFP) President and Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai has strongly criticised the BJP-led Goa government over the alleged delay in disbursing financial assistance of ₹3,000 to women applicants, accusing the government of making grand announcements without ensuring timely delivery of benefits.
In a sharp statement posted on social media platform X, Sardesai claimed that out of 3,06,396 applicants, only around one lakh have received the promised ₹3,000 assistance, while more than two lakh women are still waiting for the money.
“BJP’s promises: Big on publicity, zero on timely delivery!” Sardesai remarked, questioning the government’s commitment to fulfilling its assurances to women.
He alleged that the BJP government was more interested in publicity campaigns and grand announcements than ensuring that financial assistance reached the intended beneficiaries.
“Our sisters don’t need publicity stunts and grand announcements. They need the money they were promised!” Sardesai stated.
Describing the delay as a betrayal of public trust, the GFP leader said the government’s failure to ensure timely payments raised serious questions about its administrative efficiency and accountability.
His criticism has brought renewed attention to the gap between government announcements and the actual delivery of welfare benefits, particularly to women awaiting financial support.
The government had earlier announced that Griha Aadhar and Dayanand Social Security Scheme payments would be credited by the 10th of every month. However, the figures cited by Sardesai have not been independently verified, and clarification is needed on which ₹3,000 assistance programme his statement refers to.
The controversy raises a crucial question: Will the government disclose the exact number of applicants who have received assistance, the number still awaiting payment, and the deadline for clearing pending applications?
