Bicholim, 8 september: Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant on Tuesday dedicated the redeveloped Kadamba Transport Corporation (KTC) Bus Stand at Bicholim to the public, describing it as a major step towards improving passenger convenience and strengthening people-centric infrastructure in Goa.
The bus stand has been redeveloped at a cost of ₹16.43 crore with modern facilities aimed at making daily travel safer, smoother and more convenient for commuters.
The inauguration was held in the presence of KTC Chairman and MLA Ulhas Tuenkar, MLAs Dr. Chandrakant Shetye, Premendra Shet and Michael Lobo, besides other dignitaries and officials.
The redeveloped facility provides for separate pedestrian and vehicular movement, barrier-free access, CCTV surveillance, public conveniences and dedicated parking.
It also includes commercial and passenger amenities such as shops, a café and ATM facilities, besides upgraded infrastructure and facilities for transport staff.
Speaking on the occasion, Sawant said the project reflected the government’s focus on infrastructure that directly improves the everyday lives of citizens.
He said such modern public facilities would contribute towards the State’s broader goal of building a “Viksit Goa.”
The Chief Minister congratulated the people of Bicholim and all those associated with the completion of the redevelopment project.
