Quepem, Aug. 8: Former Sanguem MLA and senior BJP leader Subhash Phal Dessai has appealed to the people of the Curchorem Assembly constituency to accept him and bless him as he prepares for a new political journey following the reservation of the Sanguem constituency for Scheduled Tribes.

In a public message addressed to the people of Curchorem, Dessai said that he had the privilege of serving the people of Sanguem for many years. However, after the implementation of the Readjustment of Representation of Scheduled Tribes in Assembly Constituencies, Sanguem has become a reserved constituency, prompting him to look towards Curchorem.

Describing Curchorem as more than just a constituency, Dessai said it was “home with roots” and an extension of his family. He clarified that he was not approaching the people to seek a party ticket, but rather their acceptance, blessings and guidance.

He stated that if the people believed he could serve Curchorem with the same dedication, honesty and commitment that he had shown while representing Sanguem, he was ready to work for the constituency.

Highlighting his political priorities, Dessai said his focus has always been on development, employment generation, women’s and youth empowerment, education, healthcare, and ensuring dignity and respect for every common citizen. He assured that these values would continue to guide his public life.

Appealing to the voters to decide his political future, Dessai said the decision rests with the people, while the responsibility of serving them would be his. He concluded by seeking the blessings and support of the people of Curchorem for the road ahead.
