Panaji, August 22: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal will hold a town hall in Panaji on August 25 to raise concerns over what the party has termed the “forced implementation” of E20 petrol and its impact on vehicle owners in Goa.

The town hall will be held at Vivanta Miramar at 3 pm, where vehicle owners will be invited to share their experiences and problems allegedly arising from the use of E20 fuel.

According to AAP, the Goa event follows its first national town hall against E20 fuel held in Delhi, which the party claimed was watched by around seven lakh people. Vehicle owners from different parts of the country participated in the programme and spoke about their experiences with E20 petrol.

AAP has also been campaigning on the issue in Goa. A team led by Goa AAP President Valmiki Naik, along with other state leaders, visited petrol pumps across the state and interacted with motorists from Calangute to Canacona.

The party claimed that during these interactions, vehicle owners complained about issues including reduced mileage and carburettor-related problems. According to AAP, students, private vehicle owners and Goa’s motorcycle taxi pilots were among those who raised concerns.

Earlier this month, Kejriwal had pointed to Goa’s relatively high vehicle ownership and claimed that the implementation of E20 fuel could affect around 85 to 90 per cent of Goans.

Announcing the August 25 programme, Kejriwal called upon Goans affected by E20 fuel to participate in the town hall and collectively raise their concerns.

“If every Goan raises their voice together on August 25, the Modi government will be forced to listen,” Kejriwal said, according to the party.

AAP is expected to use the town hall to intensify its campaign seeking attention to the concerns of owners of vehicles that may face compatibility or performance issues with E20 petrol.
