Panaji, October 9: Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi’s scheduled visit to Goa on October 12, 2026, to participate in the ongoing Gõy Rakhonn Yatra has been postponed in view of nationwide protests by the INDIA bloc over alleged electoral irregularities and vote manipulation.
According to an announcement, the INDIA bloc’s ongoing protests against alleged “Vote Chori” and what it describes as an RSS-BJP-ECI nexus have raised serious concerns over electoral transparency, accountability and the integrity of the democratic process.
The announcement stated that these issues are of national importance and require immediate attention, prompting the decision to defer Rahul Gandhi’s Goa visit.
The Congress leadership has clarified that the visit has only been postponed and that a revised date will be announced shortly.
