Panaji: Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao on Tuesday demanded to convene meeting of stakeholders discuss the issue of commercial gas supply.
He said that it is very important issue as Hotel and restaurant operations across Karnataka’s capital are facing severe disruption from today (Tuesday) due to the complete suspension of commercial gas cylinder supplies.
He demanded to convene meeting of Goa’s stakeholder to ensure that the hotel industry in Goa continues to function smoothly despite these challenges.
“The gas supply has already stopped in Bengaluru and hence, the Hotels Associations in Bengaluru have expressed grave concern over this crisis, which has arisen as a consequence of ongoing international conflicts,” he said.
“We must not overlook the fact that Karnataka is our neighbouring state, and any suspension of supply there could directly affects Goa also. In light of this, there is an urgent need to convene a meeting of all stakeholders and to take immediate measures to ensure that the hotel industry in Goa continues to function smoothly despite these challenges,” he said.
“Goa Government needs to communicate with central Government and help Goa’s hotels and tourism industry,” Alemao stated.
