Amit Patkar Says Commitment to Goa Remains Unchanged; “The Journey Continues”

Panaji, May 29: Former Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) President Amit Patkar on Thursday expressed gratitude to party workers, supporters and citizens across Goa, stating that the true strength of public life lies not in positions or titles, but in the unwavering commitment to serve Goa and its people.

In a statement issued after the recent organisational reshuffle in the Goa Congress, Patkar reflected on his four-year journey of working across the state alongside party workers, supporters and ordinary citizens.

“The true strength lies not in titles or positions, but in the unwavering spirit of those who refuse to give up on Goa and its people,” Patkar stated.

He said that over the last four years, he had travelled extensively across Goa and worked closely with thousands of dedicated workers and supporters who believed that the state deserved better governance and stronger protection of its identity, culture and people’s rights.

Patkar said the journey was never about an individual but about collective efforts made by countless workers who stood firm during difficult times and consistently raised their voices against injustice.

Highlighting various public issues taken up during his tenure, he said the Congress party stood with farmers, youth, women, workers, fishermen, students, senior citizens and all communities seeking justice, dignity and opportunities.

“We spoke up whenever Goa’s interests were at stake and worked tirelessly to ensure that the concerns of ordinary citizens were not ignored,” he said.

Patkar further added that every village visit, organisational campaign and challenge faced by the party reflected the determination of people deeply committed to Goa’s future.

Expressing gratitude to party workers, colleagues and supporters, Patkar said their trust and affection remained his greatest source of strength.

He asserted that his commitment to public service and to the people of Goa remained unchanged despite not holding any official position.

“The responsibility to serve does not come from a position; it comes from conviction, purpose and a deep sense of duty towards society,” he stated.

Ending his message on a determined note, Patkar said, “The journey continues. The mission continues. The fight for Goa’s future continues.”
